Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
ByteTech247 is an independent technical publication. This policy explains what happens when you read it.
What this site collects today
ByteTech247 uses Google Analytics to understand which posts are actually useful. It loads on every visit and sets cookies on your device, processing standard usage data (pages viewed, approximate location from IP, device/browser type, referring site) under Google's own privacy policy. Reading the site does not create an account or any stored profile of you beyond that. This site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a separate, cookieless analytics tool that does not track you across sites or store a persistent identifier tied to your device. Server logs at the hosting layer (Cloudflare) may record standard technical data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — the same way any web server does; ByteTech247 does not access or process these logs beyond normal operational troubleshooting. This site also runs Google AdSense, which may set cookies and use device/browser data to serve ads. This site keeps ad personalization signals (Google's "ad_storage," "ad_user_data," and "ad_personalization" consent categories) turned off by default for every visitor, so AdSense serves non-personalized ads only — it does not build an ad profile of you or use your data for interest-based targeting on this site. See Affiliate/Advertising Disclosure for more on how ads are handled here.
What may be added later, and how it will be handled
If comments are added (via Giscus, which authenticates through your own GitHub account), that exchange happens directly between you and GitHub; ByteTech247 does not see or store your GitHub credentials. If affiliate links or a newsletter are ever added, this page will be updated first, before any of it goes live. See the Affiliate/Advertising Disclosure page for the current status of monetization on this site.
Third-party links
Posts on ByteTech247 link out to external tools, documentation, and services. Once you follow an outbound link, that site's own privacy practices apply — this policy only covers ByteTech247 itself.
Your rights
You can block Google Analytics yourself — a browser extension like Google's own Analytics Opt-out Add-on, an ad/tracker blocker, or clearing this site's cookies and local storage directly all work. For anything else — a question about what's collected, or a request related to it — reach out via the Contact page.
Governing law
ByteTech247 is operated from Ghana, and this policy is governed by the laws of Ghana. If you're located elsewhere and local law grants you additional data rights, this site's practices above still apply — reach out via the Contact page with any request and it will be handled directly, rather than pointing you to a formal process that doesn't exist yet for a site this size.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated whenever what ByteTech247 collects or how it's handled changes — the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
This page is provided for transparency and is not a substitute for legal advice.
